TABS for A/L students - have they planned enough to make use of it ?

"it is a common pattern among countries like India, Pakistan,SriLanka that they follow the western style in education, skills development, industry development in terms of buying the same expensive equipment, putting same names for the projects and courses, but not implementing the projects in the same way those leading countries operate, " We dont worry about the process, we just worry about the physicaly available tools " " 

I have seen, in many schools a computer lab with hundreds of computers but no teachers to teach IT, even at my son's school, ( One of the - Jaffna's leading school). No priority given to computer subjects even by principals as most of them are IT illiterate. I know, How hard to buy a computer for a student of a lower middle-class family? having free computers at their schools is a great gift, but countries which are run by mostly unskilled - visionless political leaders like Sri Lanka would not only be benefited from the physical resources available, Proper plan[The Project], that makes the physical resource usable to knowledge gaining is the key.

In Sri Lanka there are numerous schools with unused computers, Given to schools for the benefits of gifting authority (Tenders )

Now again, TABs are announced at the cost of 5Billion for every A/L student, Minister says student would search the internet to clear their doubts and do self-study! oops! again your plan is giving uncontrolled access to the internet so that students can search good and bad both?

Before issuing the TABs, have they done all proper planning(Digital study material, supporting teaching material for teachers,connection with online study portal systems etc,identification of TABS online etc) to make the students fully use the platform with their studies and have they taken all measured to protect the students from the darker side of the internet ?.

Hopefully, this is going to be another money making process for some in the power like Tamil Nadu politicians (they give Free TV, Free Grinder etc)and would create a lot of worse adverse effects in the society - if access to social media and chat programmes are not blocked (don't worry Sri Lankan know how to use VPN and Government would printed that they don't know that: so we need strong blocking systems - that could be )

TABs with a well planned integrated software to control and monitor activities + Best learning system + Proper training for teachers = an ideal move

But

Just issuing TABs+ statements in the media + useless & unmeasured(effectiveness) seminars for teachers on the use of IT and TABS = Disaster
